Lacy Rain
Lacy Rain is 32 year old seamstress and a drag and cabaret performer on the side from Glasgow. Through over 12 years working creatively, they have sewn hundreds of costumes and outfits for their stage acts and personal use, as well as working as wardrobe managers and costume designers for various theatrical productions.
“Everything I create tends to land on a spectrum between the cute and the majestic. Even when creating monsters I imagine that some witch somewhere is looking on it and finding it cute.
I’ll start with a concept and work out the best way to “find the whimsy” in the design. I look at textiles and try to ignore the obvious silhouettes that come to mind or I will try to reimagine staples in new colour pallets or fabric swatches not typically referenced.”
